Hi!! I'm new to the soap making world! I made one pound of basic CP recipe and after 2 days my soap didn't want come out of the mold!! This is my second try at cp and is my second broken mold. Could it be the weather that wont let my soap dry enough? I'm in Miami.

The first time I used a mold that came with the bramble berry CP Kit http://www.brambleberry.com/Rectangle-T ... P4198.aspx
and the 2nd time I used a plastic loaf mold that I don't really remember where I got it.

If you line the mould with plastic sheet it is easier, waxed paper sticks too much.

What was your recipe? If you have a lots of soft oils, your soap will be soft. Since you are making a small batch, I would convert your ingredients into grams for better accuracy. How much did you superfat?

The Soap was hard. I noticed the bottom of the soap was kind of soft when I took it out.

The recipe I did was:

1.9 onz of Lye
5 onz of water
4.5 onz of Palm oil
4.5 onz of coconut oil
4 onz of olive oil
0.5 onz of Essential oil

Welcome Lola!

Keep in mind that's a really small recipe, so probably not much room for error in measuring accurately.

I'd reduce the water a bit, maybe to 4 oz. I find adding a bit of sodium lactate helps my soaps come out of the mold much easier, I add it at a rate of 1.4% ppo.

That's also quite a high coconut %; if you find that the soap leaves your skin feeling dry, you may want to reduce the c.o.

My suggestion for small batches like this is to measure in grams. Much more accurate! :D
