I made bath bombs about 2 weeks ago and now they have little holes in them.. They do ok in water but I have never seen any with dimples and holes.. Is this normal

I do not use witch hazel I use almond oil

Yes it can happen. Just as long as they work, I wouldn't worry about it.

Just to add on, instead of making another thread, my bath bombs don't hold their fragrance well in the water. I'm assuming this is normal, due to dilution, but is there a trick to making the scent stick around?

I have been using 20 drops of F.O.
to 8 oz B.S.
4 oz C.Acid, 4 oz C.S.
4 oz salt

What's C.S. ? I'm having a brain fart and can't think of what that is? LOL

So, is it a total of 16 oz of ingredients, not including the fo?

If so, then for most fo's 20 drops (which is approx. 1 ml) would make a really subtle scent. If I'm doing the math correctly, then it the fo would be at 0.2%
I don't know what fo's you're using or from where, but I'd go by what they recommend.

I would guess CS is corn startch I would definately use more FO. 1ml doesn't seem like very much at all.

8 oz baking soda
4 oz citric acid
4 oz cornstarch
.5 oz sweet almond oil
.5 oz red turkey oil
1/2 tsp fragrance (it's not measured in weights in the recipe I have)

I generally add a tainch more oil to get the mixture to the right consistency, but this is what I start with.

Yep, I agree with soapbuddy. Depending on what fo's you're using, I'd up it too.

Also, mixing your fo with the baking soda or cornstarch before adding it to the mix can help keep your scent in the bombs until they react in the water.

Thanks! I made a monkey farts batch, and it's making me sick. I guess I didn't need to up the fo on that particular one.

Oh, I forgot to add the .5 oz witch hazel.

Thanks for all the suggestions.. Yes C S is corn starch. If I was doing the 8 oz baking soda, 4 oz citric acid, 4 oz corn startch, 4 oz of sea salt and was using Jasmine and Rose combination F.O. then about 81 drops should be good to hold a scent. I got my F.O. from a place close by me
