Probably is. A friend of mine made a cp soap with a half cucumber juice-half yogurt, instead of water. It turned out fine.

I'm curious about this also. Does exchanging the water for another foodie-liquid alter how long the soap will be good for? In other words, does using liquid that is not water make the soap go "bad" or rancid more quickly?

This thread has been very inspiring! I've only tried replacing my water with goat milk, but not vegetable liquid/puree yet. I *thought* I had read that using the vegetables would decrease the life of the soap, but it sounds like that was not accurate. One of those times when I'm glad to be wrong! Hmmm.....now to decide what to sub for my water as I plan out my first veggie-ish batch......

She posts on this forum as well. My cucumber soap is nearly cured... love the speckles in it. I did a little less than half of my liquid as cucumber. How did I come up with that amount? Well, pureed one cucumber and weighed it... that was how much I had to use and the rest was water. Also added powdered goats milk. I have several friends and family that are eagerly waiting for this one to cure!!!!

All of Emily's stuff is so inspiring! Especially her videos! She is one of the folks who inspired me to try CP... addicted to her youtube channel hehe

The only veggy soap I did was avocado, so I had to adjust my SF. Haven't tried one where I adjust the water yet. Still a little intimidated by the idea :o

I have an ear itch, talking about me?! :D
Oh yes you can sub water out with all kinds of stuff! I've tried so many: tea, coffee, milks, yogurt, buttermilk, cucumber juice, carrot juice, pineapple juice, pomegranate juice, berry juice, tomato paste, papaya puree, banana puree, pumpkin puree, rum, beer, red wine, champagne, egg, spinach juice, aloe juice, coconut water, ...etc. This is all I can think off ATM.
The most important trick is to keep your liquid cold, whatever liquid you use, sometimes requiring freezing it into ice cubes first and use an ice bath while mixing in the lye. Most of the fruit and vegie I use fresh if I can and strain the pulp out because I like smooth look and feel. But you can easily use the puree as long long as they are fine enough. I usually use lower superfat (or lye discount) if I'm using something high in fat like yogurt or buttermilk.

PS. I forgot ginger! Now that's a tricky one, it moves way fast!

Carrie, I did color it with the neon yellow, but I can't get the neons to give me the color I want- it was very muted. My bar has come out a very light speckled green. I did puree the skin with the cucumber. I scented it with cucumber melon and melon ball. Both are very light scents so the soap has a hint of cucumber right now. As soon as it cures I will ask two of my main testers about the scent to see if I am off. What I am finding is people tend to like the idea of something natural in their soap, be it milk or fruit or veggies.
