Teach Soap

I am hoping someone can help me out - I'm looking for a recipe for shampoo soap (bar soap, cold process) that does not use coconut oil. I am relatively new to making soap (2 years) and have recently started selling my soap in my local food co-op. I had a customer ask if I could make a soap for them without coconut oil as they are allergic to it. Thought I would come here and see if anyone has any thoughts or ideas. My main soaps all use coconut oil, olive oil and palm oil. I do not want to use lard.

Are you looking to make a regular soap or shampoo bar? To me those are 2 different things. But you could always replace the coconut oil with Babassu.

Personally though, I do not make special soaps for people with allergies to my regular ingredients because I can not guarantee that there will not be any cross contamination from possible leftover soap residue. I know that it might sound extreme, but we've got allergies in our familly and have dealt with a lot of break outs and reactions from cross contamination.

Palm kernal oil is a replacement for coconut oil. I do use babassu oil and love it, though it is a little more costly than coconut.
