I've been away from the forum for a few days and missed a lot!

Nice hummingbird and cameo soaps, soapiopath!

Melissa, love all of your tiered wedding cake soaps! I especially like the blue and white Baby Rose soaps.

AriaGirl, cute brain soaps! I like how you packaged them, too.

Super cute hedgehog soap, Coolah! :)

I've been working on these for months (probably longer). Not quite right, yet, but decided I had to "let go" for a bit and get some distance. I'm going to re-pour the silicone mold to get a sculpted bottom instead of the flat one as soon as the humidity breaks here (close to 100% -- terrible for mold-making). What I love about these is that the rose buds can be stuck into anything - real plants, silk plants, a vase, a bowl, a bucket of sand or pebbles. Stems are all adjustable, making it really simple to bend, twist, cut. In the first picture, I stuck them in a vase filled with hydroponic house plants (and a little Baby's Breath for fun).

Thanks, all.

I use liquid silicones that are mixed (base + catalyst) and then poured -- not the putty kind for "push" molds. Problem with making your own molds is that it is very expensive and mistakes are costly -- no such thing as "re-doing" a bad mold. Loads of YouTube videos out there to learn how to do it. If anyone's interested I can put up a few links. Or, do a quick search for RTV (Room Temperature Vulcanizing) siliicone mold making. Martha Stewart's site has a few, I think.

Here's a piece I made from a cheap ($3.50) resin sculpture bought near NYC's Chinatown. He's about 3-1/2 high and 3-1/2 wide. Mold has to be redone since I lost some of the detail - he's not crisp enough for my taste. Also, it's not a great photo. But, just to give you a sense - the silicone for this one cost about $25 to make (I use food-grade, the most expensive). Also, the soap isn't setting up right in this one - made the walls of the mold too thick. Learning every day.

These are all melt and pour hand crafted soap. I just love the coloring. All candle molds multi purpose.

Thank you Irena. Here is my very favorite one, so glad I have the photos! Sent to Hawaii some time ago. I have yet to recreate it.

Beautiful soap roses, Connie! They look so real. Love the Buddha, too.

Pretty soaps, Melissa! I like the blue and white swirls in the spearmint, and the butterfly is cute.

Love your Buddhas, too, mella! :)
