how much baker's chocolate are you supposed to use per pound of oils? I'm googling but not finding anything. I'm going to use white chocolate...and do I need to decrease my SF or can I keep it at 7%? TIA

I've used 1 tsp PPO. It was melted and stick blended into my oils. I didn't recalculate my recipe with it.

Mella, are you choosing to use the white chocolate to help with the white color? And are you using real white chocolate? Some that is sold as bakers chocolate is really a 'summer coating'.

I'm just experimenting I guess...want to see what it will do in soap. This is what the ingredients say:

white chocolate (sugar, cocoa butter, whole milk powder, nonfat dry milk, soy lecithin-an emulsifier, vanilla, mixed tocopherols-a preservative)
vanilla
natural flavor
ground vanilla beans

it should be ok to use, shouldn't it?

Sorry Methree...yes I meant you. Guess I have been reading all of Mella's posts lately.

Looks like you have what would be classified as 'white chocolate'. There really is no real white chocolate, as the FDA says to be chocolate it has to contain cocoa solids, which could not then be white. But as long as you have the one with cooca butter it is the best thing. The alternative would have a vegetable fat in place of the cocoa butter. At one time the FDA was attempting to classify white chocolate... don't know if that is still in the works.

Let us know how your experiment comes out... I very curious to know if it helps to whiten the soap.

The chocolate should smell like chocolate with the cocoa butter in there? I have been wanting to do dark cherry and a chocolate fragrance, but other fragrances keep jumping ahead of those two bottles! Darn, some FO just don't play fair
