Hello Everyone! I am new to this forum and new to soaping

I have been making some bath bombs and recently tried making cupcake bath bombs. They came out beautiful, but after a few days of drying the "frosting" cracked

I didn't have any trouble with it popping off as some have but almost all of them had cracks from small to large.

I am going to try adjusting my recipe, any other hints that may help with the cracking? BTW I use the typical meringue powder/water/cream of tartar/powdered sugar recipe. They are so cute, I hope I can find a way to prevent the cracking!

Also I have seen some really fluffy looking frosting - any ideas on how to get mine fluffier looking? Thanks for any suggestions!

I have seen ones that use the Foaming Bath Butter on this page; http://www.brambleberry.com/soapbases.html They look really nice, however, this base will harden a little but it will not get super firm. It will be possible to dent or smudge the frosting if it gets poked.

With trying this recipe twice, I have sucessfully BURNED up two mixers!

...The frosting was to thick.....I also waited a couple of days to frost, and now the frosting comes apart from the cupcake. Is it because I waited? any advice appreciated!! Just call me the "Smokin' Mixer"... lol :lol:

I have no idea what caused the separating frosting but the burning up mixers sound like too much powdered sugar! You don't want it too thick! If it looks like it's getting thick add water in small amounts so it forms peaks! Hope this helps!
