I'm not sure Irena, after I saw the picture I went back and looked, but its gone! Must have been moisture off my hands that I washed just before I took the pictures.

It worried me too! There is no zap and the spot it gone now, so I think its all good!

Today I made violet with colloidal oatmeal. I had to use EVOO as I was out of the lighter stuff. Violet oxide + yellow soap does NOT make purple! Eww icky brown! So I added some ultramarine blue and some red oxide, its kind of a dusky purple. Luckily Mom (who the soap is for) really likes it. Now I see why folks ask about purple!

Thank you for the compliments on my castile soap, everybody! Mella, the plan is to let the bars cure for at least 4 months, if I can be patient enough. I may try one of my end slivers before then, just to see. I hear that castile especially gets better with age and that a cure of 6-12 months is ideal. I have a hard enough time waiting 6 weeks to use my regular bars!

This is my violet and colloidal oatmeal soap, it overheated some but seems to be just fine! The shiny spots are just shiny, not wet at all, and the stippling is from spraying it with alcohol... that little bottle has a powerful sprayer! I struggled with the colour some with this one, the EVOO was SO dark that the violet oxide went an icky brown colour, so I added blue and red and came up with this dusky purple, which Mom actually really likes! The swirls are throughout but my batteries are dying so I didn't get pictures of them!

Heather, they look great! Coloring can be tempramental. My purples turn gray, my pinks turn violet or orange, white goes yellow, blues go purple.... you name it and it will happen! Your color is good and the swirls are perfect. Now if you want to get this color again best to write down what you used and did!
