Teach Soap

I'm just full of questions this week!!

I live in a super old victorian manor house that has the original hot-water filled radiators. The one in the dinning/soap curing room is kept low enough to just keep the room warm. Could I put my plastic shoe box turned mold onto of that to help gel phase? The tub really has no self insulating properties.

Also, I left the lid on last time and moisture dripped from in and marred the surface of my soaps, any suggestions on how to stop this? I was thinking just leaving the lid off and covering it with my soaping towel. The mold is deep enough that the towel wouldn't reach the soap. But I worry about insulation then! Arg.

If the radiator is on low, try putting a towel on it, then put the soap over that. I don't use any lid on my soaps due to the condensation issue. A towel over the top of it should be fine. As soon as it's in full gel, move it to a cooler place like your kitchen counter.
