I am a newbie to soapmaking. Have read this forum, watched the video's, and finally placed my first order.

Here is my very first batch of soap, Grapefruit Lily w/pink himalayan salt added to it. It smells fresh, but the scent is light. This is one hobby that I will really enjoy....I had only one major boo-boo. When I went to add the salt, I spooned it in the melted soap, I went to stir, and it had clumped up really badly. I had to scoop it all out and decided to sprinkle it inbetween the layers...All else, it went fine...

I've been so excited to try this plaid project! I used BB bases and Moroccan Mint fragrance (perfect for the season!!) It was harder than I thought - the clear layers that you lay the strips into do cool down really quickly! There are a few bubbles and imperfections on the top, so next time I will enlist a friend to help with that layering step, and maybe add a little glitter into the clear top layer for some shimmer and to hide any little imperfections. The recipe made a lot (I got two brownie sheets worth, so double this many little soaps) I cut out one batch straight and one on the diagonal - I like the diagonal ones better. Overall I think they are adorable - a little retro & super cute! Yay for getting an early start on Christmas presents!!
