Hi,
I make CP soap and other body products but thought i would try my hand at candles this holiday season. I have a nice tutorial that is easy to follow but have a couple of questions that are not addressed in it.

I wanted to add a little color and have some oil soluble oxides, I saw a couple of threads that stated you COULD add coconut oil at 1 tbs pp of wax (I am doing soy wax, by the way), so could i heat my coconut oil and dissolve the colorant in that then add it to my wax (can a swirl be achieved?)? Also will the oil make my candles look oily or slick or anything?

I also have micas, could i use them and would they give me that beautiful sparkle that micas tend to have? Would that need to be dissolved in anything prior?

Second, for FO's that turn CP soap brown will it affect the candle color too? I would think not but thought I would ask.

Thanks all!!!
Erin

The vanilla fragrance that I use turns my candles an off white.

Oxides are NOT safe for candles. They will emit toxic fumes when burned. I would get yourself some safe candle colors.
