Well, I think I basically figured out how to use soapcalc.com(found a youtube video explaining how) :D anyway...just messing around and plugging in the different oils I will be getting this is what I came up with:

Total oil weight 3
Water as percent of oil weight 38 %
Super Fat/Discount 7 %
Lye Concentration 26.658 %
Water : Lye Ratio 2.751:1

Sat : Unsat Ratio 44 : 56
Iodine 59
INS 148
Fragrance Ratio 2.4
Fragrance Weight 7.2 Oz
Ingredient Pounds Ounces Grams
Water 1.14 18.24 517.095
Lye - NaOH 0.414 6.63 187.956
# √ Oil/Fat % Pounds Ounces Grams
1 Olive Oil 25 0.75 12 340.194
2 Canola Oil, rapeseed 15 0.45 7.2 204.116
3 Coconut Oil, 76 deg 25 0.75 12 340.194
4 Palm Oil 30 0.9 14.4 408.233
5 Shea Butter 5 0.15 2.4 68.039
Totals 100 3 48 1360.776
Soap Bar Quality Suggested Range Your Recipe
Hardness 29 - 54 42
Cleansing 12 - 22 17
Conditioning 44 - 69 54
Bubbly 14 - 46 17
Creamy 16 - 48 25
Iodine 41 - 70 59
INS 136 - 165 148

Lauric 12
Myristic 5
Palmitic 20
Stearic 5
Ricinoleic 0

This section here in red is the part I do not understand. Any tips/pointers as to is this a good recipe? and what these in red are and/or mean?

I'm confused. At the top it says you are using "3" total weight of oils. Is that 3 lbs.? If that's the case, then 7.2 ozs. of fragrance will be too much. I would use 2.25 oz. of fragrance.

From the looks of it, you have 15% canola. That's a soft oil and is prone to DOS. I would sub that oil for another, or redistribute that % between the rest of your other oils.

Your recipe looks fine, except for the fragrance amount, like soapbuddy said. I ran the recipe again using a figure of .7 oz per pound of oils and came up with 2.1oz. of fragrance for 3# of soap.

If this is your first batch ever, you might want to go with 1# batch and no fragrance, so you can get an idea of what the soapmaking process feels like. It would be a shame to waste 3# of oils if something went wrong!

I've used canola before and had no problem with DOS (dreaded orange spots). If you want to keep it in your recipe, you could change it to 10% and add 5% more to the olive oil.

The different fatty acids that you have in red - click on them in soapcalc and you can find out more about them. 8)

Yay all of the stuff I ordered is here. Now I can make some soap! Probably will have to wait until Tues, because of church tomorrow and working on Mon.
