I have been looking in to starting a website, and want to get it done in the next week. :)
I know I will be using E Mal's for shopping cart, as I have read very good things about them in the forum. My question is about the actual website. 1and1.com says I can buy my domain for .99, but then I guess I don't know what to do with it. I see that some people are using webs, or weebly. I have actually made a website from both in the past, but do not remember liking it(I don't remember why, page restrictions? or maybe it was because I didn't have my own domain).
Are there any other sites that are free, or just a couple dollars a month? And I guess I don't understand if 1and1 allows me to take my domain and attach it to any site I want?

(Would it just be easiest for me to go back to webs or weebly?)

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me! :)

Go to GoDaddy and register your web site yourself. That way it's yours. As far as hosting, I've seen a lot of people use Weebly.

Yes, definitely get your url first. You can always import it to another web hosting site.

One day I was reading the success story of Lather Unusual on Bramble Berry and loved their website. http://www.latherunusual.com/
I looked at the source and it was created from a template from http://www.bigcommerce.com then of course had to look at the reviews. That led me to http://ecommerce-software-review.toptenreviews.com/
Pretty good comparisons there to chose which one might be best for you. I tended toward volusion and big commerce myself.

Look at websites you love then find out how they were done.

Good luck with your site :D

I use godaddy for my domain registration, then I point the domain to the server which is hosting it. On that server I deploy the site after I have a local copy looking like what I want. I use wordpress for my blog and shopify for my store currently. I really like wordpress, it is super easy to use.
