Hi everyone,

This Saturday I made some awesome soap - my best soap yet in my opinion! But today I noticed it feels a little sweaty. I was taking pictures of it today and saw there were little beads of water on the surface. I've never had this before with cold process - it's only ever happened to me with m&p. Does anyone know maybe why it's happened or how to stop it? It's a bit ick! I got soap slime all over my camera!

Sounds like the glycerin is oozing out. Is it humid where you are?

Hm, no it's been really cold here recently. (I'm in Manchester, UK.) I have had the heating on a bit though because of it, do you think that could maybe be the problem? If it is then I'm not sure if I'll sacrifice my heating for my soap haha. Yesterday I've moved the soap to my soap cupboard and it seems to be a little less sweaty in there, but it's not stopped sweating completely.

Try putting a fan on it and see if that helps.

hi all,
today is the 3rd day for my 100% castile soap in the mold.
2 days before it was still very soft in mold, hence left the soap inside the mold.
today, 3 day, after coming back from work, notice this sweating on top of the surface.

as mentioned that it might be the glycerin, is this normal?? should i remove from mold and sit the loaf in front of the fan?

sweating really an issue? i'm worried now.

Wipe the sweating from the top and see if it comes back. Or wait and see if it absorbs back in. If the soap is hard enough, you can take it out of the mold.

i think it's glyrecin...which describe by Irena.
ventilated them....no more sweating...slowly able to see it getting firmer.
thanks
