Papaya Juice has natural acid, which could have neutralized some of your lye, making the soap extra superfated. Added extra water will make the soap softer too. Is your vegetable shortening soybean based or palm oil based?

7% superfat is fine. I would not sub the juice for your water unless it's a small amount for label value. Soap is a wash off product. It doesn't stay on the skin long enough to do any whitening. I would be curious what is in the whitening soap that you have on your market? Is it a syndet bar? What are the rules and regs regarding soap in your country?

A co-worker of mine got some whitening lotion from her sister in Japan. It bleached her arm hairs. I thought it was kind of neat.

Yeah I think so. since soap will only stay for a few minutes so basically it wont really gets your skin lighten. But you know Maam Irena, here in Asian Countries, there's a lot of soap which they called whitening soap here, like what you have said, soap with kojic acid - thats one. All of these became salable here because of you know people here really wants to have smooth and lighter skin.

For the Maam, thank you so much. It gives me more idea about what ingredients that would work best if i would like to make whitening products. I like it. I will try to explore this someday if how i can order from you or from BB. I do not have idea yet if how this will be done.. from you there and ship here in the Philippines.
