Teach Soap

I used way to little mold so they are so thin and it was kinda hard cutting them because they were hard :/ so my first trouble is with the mold but the next one is with my clay I used kaolin clay and I put the clay into thin trace and then I blended some more but the clay did not want to mix, it went clumpy on me :/ I did the same with the brick red oxide and that blended so well so when should I blend the clay,I have a book that says that I could blend it with the lay water but will that hurt the coloring ? I was going to use the white clay because of the white coloring

I think it came out well! Clay works best if it's hydrated first. Hold back a small portion of just water from your water calculations and dissolve the clay with it to make a slurry. Or for a single color soap, mix it into your dissolved oils and blend.

Really nice for a first batch
You are going to have several batches that won't turn out as you wanted them to so welcome to the club.

There is a helpful formula you can use to figure mold size or how big a batch you need to fill a mold. Length x width x height you want the batch to be x .38. I wish I had known it when I first began. It only works if you aren't discounting your water any. if you do you have to change the .38 to the new number.

Looks great! Very well done!! I have a whole new appreciation for these swirly ones with additives after my first batch went so wonky.

I think they look great! When you were talking about a thin bar I was seeing a layer about 1/4 inch. Have you weighed one of these bars yet?
