I wonder if the clay might be a little drying (i.e. counterproductive) in a body butter? Not sure.

I just remembered that I made some body butter last month and I'd have to look up the recipe but there was oil in it (maybe a little more than 30%?) plus shea/cocoa butter and beeswax. It got hard overnight and wouldn't give me that whipped texture I got using only shea and CO. It also is too oily (IMO) for summer skin. Though it does absorb somehow into the skin, but it's just very very rich. I got the recipe off a gal's blog ... lmk if you want me to find it for you!

I tried this one and so far I love it. I decided that the kaolin clay may not be so bad after all and maybe less chance of growing bacteria than the corn starch so I thought I would give it a go:
2 oz Cocoa Butter
1/2 oz Fract Coconut Oil
1/2 oz Castor Oil
1/2 oz glycerin
1 tsp Vit E and 1 tsp of kaolin clay
I melted down the cocoa butter than added the other oils and glycerin put it in an ice bath until it became like a slush added the clay and whipped it! It is really nice, not too greasy like the other one without the clay and the clay seems to have given it a really nice texture. It has been around 6 hours and still holding in a soft mouse texture.

Karri, all the recipes I tried got too hard, none will be as nice or easy as what you made from Soap Queens recipe, but here is a video with a recipe for half and half I am going to keep trying until I get it to work, right now I have to start over as I have a very nice liquid soap butter hey maybe the new liquid lotion with no perservative I have always wanted lol. I think the trick will be adding the right amount of oil for the cocoa butter and will keep in the glycerin and arrowroot in place of the clay and cornstarch and a lot of whipping. Okay it has been at least a week or so now, this is how the whipped cocoa butter still looks. It feels like silk and smells very nice just natural. I gave some to a friend to try and she loves it too. Not the same look as the shea you made but still soft and smooth.
