If you had lumps, it sounds like the lanolin didn't melt completely. What was your actual method and temps used?

Stearic has a high melt point. So it's possible that the lumps might have been the stearic. Did you use a stick blender?

Maybe you needed to stick blend longer. Lotion like this should have no lumps. Did you pour it into a container and let it cool off or did you leave it in the container that you used to mix all of it in? Did you put the lotion in the fridge to cool off?
