I made soap with a high cleansing number ( learned my lesson)....can I rebatch the soap and add some more, let's say Olive oil to get the number down ?

sure you can, but you dont have to. What was your super fat? And what was the cleansing number? Usually, you can allow the soap to cure for 6-8 weeks and it will be fine. But if you way over did, then yes, you can rebatch or use it as imbeds in other batches.

my number are 24 and 25, I love the soaps, the smell and how they look, it would be a shame to rebatch them...

I have done soaps with those numbers at a 6 and 7% super fat and they have been fine. I guess it really depends on your skin, your other oils, and the super fat. Why dont you just let them cure and see how you feel then? I am assuming that both those numbers are the cleansing numbers and not your sf.

I SF at 5 %, and added a little extra castor oil...I guess instead of rushing in rebatching, maybe I should just wait and cure, you are right...

I think you will be fine, especially since you added extra castor oil. But, you really should include the castor as a percentage of your recipe oils and then run it through soapcalc at a higher superfat (maybe 7-8%) to have a more accurate recipe.

And I agree with both Linda and Irena! Some people, like the Soap Queen, like super fatting at 5%, but most that I know like 6 or 7% instead. You will have to try them out and see what suits you best. Of course, with this batch you wont really know the super fat unless you sit down and calculate it out. Much easier to just add all the oils into your formula to begin with.
So experiment and have fun as you figure things out!
