Teach Soap

So I'm still fairly new to the whole bath & body products but so far, I've been really lucky that so many of products have turned out just how I want. However, I'm having a hard time with my salt & sugar scrubs. I knew it would happen, but the sugar or salt sinks to the bottom. Here is my recipe:

16 oz White Sugar/Brown Sugar/Salt (whichever I'm using)
8 oz Sweet Almond or Avocado Oil
6 mL Phenonip
3 mL Fragrance

All of the scrubs that I've used in the past the granules suspend and you don't need to mix it up but all of mine I ask people to stir it up prior to using. Is there anything that I can add so that the granules suspend and people don't have to mix it up? I didn't want to just add things randomly and see what works, I just was wondering what others use. Thanks!!

I add E-wax to mine and then whip it. However, if the scrub gets too warm, it will still separate a bit.

I would cut the oil down. I make my scrubs "dry" and it works very will without a greasy feeling when done. I also use a very light oil with feels nice and absorbs quickly.

Also i read (have not tried it yet) that silicone will help to keep scrubs from leaking, i am wondering if it would help with suspension???

For anyone interested, I tested out putting E-wax in the scrub and it worked out great. It was the consistency that I was looking for. I've been using it and checking it in the shower every few days and it's really holding up. In a 24 oz batch I used 1.2 oz of e-wax and it's been great.

I like the "Amy's Scrub" recipe Anne Marie posted on the Soap Queen Blog under 'soaks and scrubs.' Amy makes a sugar scrub using BB Foaming Bath Butter and jojoba oil. I modified the recipe a little by using 2 cups sugar and 1/4 cup BB crushed walnut shells, and I used cucumber melon BB FO and colored mine a nice light green. I made it 2 weeks ago, and it has all stayed suspended nicely, fresh-smelling, and leaves you feeling clean and moisturized but not greasy. I can't wait to make some more trying some different FO's or EO combinations! The comments below the recipe answer some questions about whipping the FBB and adding the sugar which was helpful. I wonder if adding some Phenonip (& how much if so) would be a good idea since I use it in the shower and there is the possibility my hands might be wet when using it.

I live in the desert. I tried whipping the bath butter, but it deflated in the heat.
