Teach Soap

I added a small amount of thouroughly melted steric acid to hot liquid soap that had gone liquid after adding fragrance after 24 hours it is just right in consistancy but I notice here and there what looks like the little beads of steric,could the steric have beaded up as it was cooling? I am certain it was completly melred when I put it in and made sure my soap was really hot as well ,any thoughts? thanks.

I haven't had good luck adding stearic after the LS was made. Sounds like some of the stearic cooled off and solidified instead of mixing.

Thanks SB ,this was a interesting experiment,I had 4 bottles of LS that needed to be thickened,the fist one I added about 2 ozs of M&P and after a day it set up pretty nicely,then for the next 2 I used corn starch,and that also did the trick,but the consistancy was just a little rough,but definately still usable , the steric acid one was perfect consistancy except for a few of the little pieces that must have begun to solidify,do you think if I heat my soap base up even more and add the melted steric it will help?

no I didn't make my liquid soap from MP ( although I have tried ha ha ) I just added some to a liquid soap base that had gone to liquidy to my likeing. It did the trick but I will not do this again because I won't have room on an ingredient label for the ingredients in the gaotsmilk and shea butter shower gel and then the added MP.

Have you tried liquid Crothix? I've read that some people have had good luck with it.

No I haven't tried that yet SB ,I was think9ing that if I ended up with very thin soap i would put it in a foamer bottle,would that work?

Thanks SB, that sounds very doable , would I need to add a preservative if I;m diluteing with distilled water?
