I had a mastiff years ago and truly loved that dog! He liked to stand up and place his legs over my shoulders like a person hugging, and lay his head down on me. He had to bend a bit to do that (I'm short ), but it was so sweet and always freaked the neighbor out!

Thanks, Tammy. I just adore this breed. (Although I do have one non-mastiff, a Giant Schnauzer.) It's been almost two years since I lost my first mastiff to cancer, and I still miss him.

The dogs I've been researching this information for are related to mine. One of them is my boy's mother, another is my girl's uncle.

I'll post pictures if things go well.

Wow!!! I've just read the warning about using EO's or herbs on cats, so many things I didn't know and I am not alone in this a friend of mine who is a RN, vet nurse married to a vet and a herbalist killed her cat by giving it some herbs as recommended in a book written by a highly respected well known "holistic vet", its amazing how little animal health professionals know about using herbs and spices on pets. You guys are welcome. A lot of people don't realize the danger of fo's or eo's on pets because a lot of the time when they buy their eo's it just lists the possible dangers to people.

So true, had it not been for a radio show I used to do about animals, I probably would not have known to include the cat warning on my EO's. Since I didnt have cats at the time (I now have 2), I had not thought about them at all. But someone asked me a question that I could not answer, so I began the research. I was very surprised by what I found, and went immediately and added a cat warning on my website and my labels. While I had always had a note "just for use on dogs", I felt it was important to elaborate more.
As someone else mentioned earlier, there is so much conflicting information that it takes a great deal of diligence to sort it all out. So when we dont know for sure, I think that using nothing is the best alternative.
So great to have forums such as this too share info and discuss ideas!
