I think your packaging is great! I love the style and the choice of colors. I love your little bunny and how nice that DH was able and willing to help. What type of paper did you use to make the box? As for cost.... if you know how much your soap base, coloring and fragrance costs per ounce then you could calculate based on what you used. I do not sell, at this point will only give to family and very close friends with instructions they are for their use only! I am considering them my testers... incase I would sell in 9 or 10 years. I do not have the license to sell at this time.

Thanks, Susie! I'm not able to sell properly either, but my MIL wanted to at least cover the cost of the materials. I'm sure I'll be able to work that out. As for the paper, it's . There are about 58 sheets in a stack and 12x12 inches. There's a different texture on either side of the paper. I've used it for cards and all sorts of crafts. The label is made of the same paper.

Sorry, polutechnos...I'm afraid I can't offer any critism. They look great! :P

I agree with Bubbles2 about giving to family and close friends only. It would be nice to be able to get back some of your expenses, but once you accept money for your soap, you are selling and should have insurance, etc. Could you trade your soap for a craft your friend does that you don't do? This way you are both getting something!

Thanks, ljm! I think you're right. I was actually about to ask about swapping soaps, since people have started asking me about that. Also, what about donating them to a fundraiser? Someone has asked me to make soaps for a fundraiser - I wouldn't be paid for it, but the soaps would be sold to the public. I'm not sure where this decision would fall...

I don't know about donating for a fundraiser. Maybe someone else has an answer. I know several people on here donate soap to local charities, but that's not the same thing.

Thanks for your help. I'll be thinking about this. I don't have the full details, but I was told they would try to sell them, if I were to donate some. I'm not 100% comfortable with the idea - I'm always worried someone might have a reaction, which wouldn't be good, even if they didn't blame me. Hmm-hmm, we'll see what happens.

Here's one I did yesterday - rose scented with added olive oil and poppy seeds and a rose frargranced petal bomb. My bath bomb mould broke so I added more salts to it and made "rose sorbet soaks" instead. Sorry for the cheesy pic

Be aware that those rose petals will turn brown over time.

More soaps with embed paper. Spring has definitely sprung here in Phoenix, Arizona!

Great job, polutechnos! I like the textured tops of your rose and lavender-poppy seed soaps. Pretty packaging, too. The bath bombs and soaks also look wonderful - rose is one of my favorite fragrances!

And FairyCute, I love your spring soaps! The embed paper looks great. Super-cute soaps, congrats!

(Hi I'm new)

Anyway. XD I just finished my first few batches of soaps a few days ago.

Image

I was playing around with a few other soaps, and I was stirring and stirring...and got distracted by the pretty bubbles in the soap. And then I decided to make a soap using the bubbles. So I made a wave heading to shore. And then someone commented that it looked like a tsunami. So, I believe I'll sell them and use the net profits to support Japan... What do you think? I'd downright donate had I the money, so I figure this is how I can help.

The other experiments from that day...
