Mella, I like your beach glass like creation! Reminds me of my recent Cancun trip, wish summer can be here, like right now!

Hello guys all the way from Athens, Greece.

I have been a long time lurker and during this past summer I decided to actually go through with my new found hobby (melt and pour soap making) and gave it a try.
Now, I am in no way experienced and everything I have done so far I've done with help from youtube, soap queen tv and this forum. I started with the simple m&p stuff, two colors, went on with layers and this past week I tried the swirling method.
Unfortunately, the swirling did not happen as much as I wanted to making the soap look more like a layered soap. I think that sometimes I waited too long and sometimes I poured the other color too soon and mixed it too much, I don't know. Another think that happened was that in two bars of soap you'll see that there is no white soap on top. The top layer suddenly came off, I don't know why! And, finally, as I was finishing up I got fed up that my swirls were not working that I added white base and just sprinkled green and red color and attacked it with a tooth pick and added on top of it clear base, so you see that the bottom of the soap is clear.
I would love to hear your take on this batch of melt and pour soap, tips, hints, everything you could share with me.
Since I'm in Greece, uou got to understand that the soap making business here is very limited and I cannot find anywhere the micas you use, the fragrance oils, the embed toys etc. I did find a soap making company where I buy my base 1kg=5 Euros and have found some molds, some basic colors such as yellow, orange, red, lilac, blue, green (pigmented) but that's it. I have bought some amazing fragrance oils from abroad but the cost is too much for me to actually but a nice quantity of molds, colors and fragrance oils. I'll try to save money to be able to buy some stuff every two months.

Now let me know what you think, I'm dying to know your opinion.

Good work. I especially like the middle one with the blue center and a white streak that looks like the alps! Very nice coloring.

When fooling with m and p sometimes I let a thick skin form on a layer then before pouring the next layer I take an ice pick and poke just a few holes in the thick layer. Makes some interesting layering. I practiced this is small 3x3 inch containers.

Welcome to the forum of soap addicts, where we love bubbles fragrance and colors!

I think that looks great! Especially for your first attempt! Sometimes it just takes a few tries before you get the technique down. I still think it looks good though! :D
