Hi All, I'm new to soap making and reading comments about the life of soap has me wondering what is the shelf life of soap. I have store bought soap that I have had for years and pressumed that the same would apply to CP soap. Having just used the first of my soap it has been a wonderful surprise to find how soft on the skin it is and has really opened my eyes to how bad store bought soap (SBS) is. Look forward to your replies. P.S. will my CP soap be kinder to the glass in my shower that the SBS? Thanks

Doesn't store-bought soap have preservatives? I would guess that it does, which would make me think it would have a very different shelf-life than handmade soap. Is that the case?
