Sounds lovely, but it's not castile if it has anything other than olive oil.

Thats why I named it 'Baby Bath' instead of castille. No color, no fragrance. So as skin safe as I could make it. (Somethings just need to be improved upon).

You either love castile or hate it. My sister will not use anything else.

Thanks for the answers.
I guess the goey slime is an acquired taste.
I'll keep using the castille, heard so many great things about it that I can't wait to see the results on my skin. :)

I just made a Castile soap as part of my new Porgugal range using the 80% Olive oil rule (who invented that? Id love to know) i.e. you can still call it Castile as long as you use 80% OO, I added 10% coconut, 5% castor and 5% beeswax. made the soap, kept it a very light trace as I was adding cinnamon and clove eo at 2% and I know the go seriously fast. Well the soap cut well, looks fab, smells lovely but as it set fast (due to the eo's) it still has very soft bits! Im hoping they set as it is a seriously lovely soap. Next time I will make it with no eo's or ones I know dont seize too fast.

made a soap with only 60% OO used CO, Castor and PO and even though it isn't 100% OO it still feels slimy and not much in terms of bubbles, the soap is 3 months old, it's very hard and leaves skin feeling really good but the slimy bit is something one has to get used to. I have tried 100% OO soap which I bought from health food store and it has even less bubbles than my soap but it doesn't feel as slimy as mine, cannot work out why????

100% olive oil is not so much a rule as it is a definition. I don't really get the point of calling it castile if it is not 100% olive oil. I have some customers who have said things like, "Your castile is more slimey." To which I always reply, "That's because it's genuine castile."
