Teach Soap

I like the round soap that comes out of my pvc mold but I have trouble lining the pvc pipe. The soap always gets through my freezer paper and sticks to the mold, making cleanup a mess and making it difficult to get the soap out. Can pvc pipe be oiled and used without a liner?

Or is there such a thing as a silicone tube mold that is round (or better yet, slightly oval) that will produce a long cylinder of soap that I can slice up? Somothing that is compatible with CP? I don't care for the individual tray molds with round cavities . . .

PVC will get seasoned (like a cooking pan) after a while. I don't coat mine with anything.

Really? You just pour your CP directly into the PVC tube? How long is your tube? Do you have any trouble getting your soap out?

Well I guess I'll just need to give it a try without a liner this weekend and see what happens. Yay! Hopefully that'll work and I'll be good to go.

I've read that some people heat the PVC pipe then lay a heavy board or something on it to change the round PVC pipe into a slight oval. I'd love to do that but I don't have a heat gun and I'm sure you probably can't use the oven to heat it because of the fumes.

Did I read somewhere that you can grease the inside with vasilene? I know I have to do this with my bear molds to get them out without broken legs. Vasilene does not saponify.
