Teach Soap

I just unmolded a beautiful loaf of lilac soap. I swirled it in the pot and I really like the way it came out. I just cut it and it seems like it is 'weeping' oil. 5% lye discount. I am so careful when I measure. NOW I am very careful to stir and stir my lye. Is it going to stay soft? Do I just wipe the oil off? I don't plan to gift it for at least 8 weeks. So Sad.......

Did you use a stick blender or mixed by hand? Does the liquid zap? Did you reach a true trace?

I mix the lye water and the oils by hand then stick blend to light trace. I mix the fragrance with some oil and stir it in by hand at thin trace. Two possibilities; 1. I did not stir it enough when I added the fragrance in the oils. 2. The oils that the fragrance was in had cooled off too much. The soap gelled. It is zapping today. I made it Thursday. I am thinking of shredding it with a potaoe peeler so it is curly and adding it to a new batch.

I would try rebatching the whole batch first. Chunk it up using gloves, then use a crock pot if you have one. If the soap zaps, those shreds could zap too.

I hope that is it. I just made another batch and stirred it quite a bit more. Also I noticed that the oil that the fragrance was in had cooled off quite a bit so i warmed it to the temperature of the other oils.

That is too bad, the only time I have weeping issues is when I use Vit E in my soaps, happens every time. I am sure this one will turn out wonderful.
