There are a number of sulfer shampoos and lotion that are on the market.... how could they do it. I am sure that if it smelled that bad no one would use it... no matter what their skin condition was. I think we have some at work, I will have to give it a smell. I'm glad to hear that others can create 'stinky soap' as I did... but mine was with seaweed. It too sits in a canister with a tight fitting lid waiting for me to need a gag gift! (pun intended).

I wonder about the smell myself... there's got to be a way to mellow out the stinkiness cuz the facial mask I used did not smell bad at all or I'm sure I would throw that into the trash can already. So I went online and looked for the ingredients of Peter Thomas Roth Sulfur Cooling Masque . This is the list:

5 oz :
Active: Precipitated Sulfur U.S.P. 10%. Purified Water, Bentonite, Kaolin, Propylene Glycol, Glycerin, Aloe Vera, Zinc Oxide, Eucalyptus Oil, Polysorbate-20, Titanium Dioxide, Diazolidinyl Urea, Methylparaben, Carbomer 940, Sodium Hydroxide, Propylparaben

Anyone can figure out which ingredient helps deodorizing the smell of sulfur?

  Supersoaper, I guess you have found your own version of "Migraine"! I now know that I should never experiment with sulphur soap because I am already on a short rope when it comes to smelling up the house.. I'm glad you are out there to take the risks that some of us can no longer afford to take. Congratulations to your Bears for their victory, but I have to pull for the Packers in the next game.

Hi Supersoaper, in answer to your message about sulpher soap, no I haven't tried the soap, but have tried the pools.
They are amazing for the body and the soul, if you can get passed the stink. I have spent many a lovely night soaking in the sulphur pools in Rotorua, just about drained of all my energy, and felt incredible the next day, after a good night's sleep.
They are fantastic for skin problems and aches and pains etc. But as for the soap, I should imagine that having a bath or a hot shower with it, you would get pretty much the same result.
Did it have a perfume or essential oil added to the bar? The smell would put most people off otherwise.
Enjoy, and let us know how it went. I would consider trying out a batch myself if the scent was ok. Regards a happy kiwi of NZ. :P

It kinda resembles the stuff that falls out of a horses butt after they've eaten too much hay. It's that color brown. Not kidding....when I opened the baggie with the sulphur powder my initial thought was, "this doesn't smell so bad....what's all the fuss about?" Then the second that powder came into contact with the soap, the monster was born. I finished feeding about 20 minutes ago and stopped by the outdoor shed on the way up to the house and checked on it. This is no lie; I could smell that stuff about 30 feet outside of the shed with the door closed!!!! And I live on a ranch with horses!!! I might have to walk that stuff down to Dr Frankenstein's castle and make a peace offering or something cause I don't think I can live in the same place with that vile creation. I don't care how good it is for you.....it's gotta go!!!!
