Teach Soap

I have WAY too many soaps (melt and pour and cp) that for one reason or another (I don't like the look of them or the scent) and
haven't known what to do with them. The soaps are perfectly fine, they just don't seem pretty enough to sell. So-----
I found an organization that accepts unlabeled soap. They will ship them to Haiti. The web site is: cleantheworld.org

I donate to the local women's shelter as I prefer to keep it local.

I have a brother who works in a greasy ol' shop so I give him my ugly soap. I really like the idea of the womens shelter.

Me, too. We have a local shelter that I know would take some.

I too believe that if we give to others or our community we get much more back... I give a bar from each batch either to our womens shelter or to a homeless shelter. When I first started to read this forum someone mention this and decided then it was a fabulous idea... thanks who ever you are for giving me a push in the right direction!

Sometimes A Mistake is so much fun, You just have to do it again!

My wife & I donate time to convalescent homes just visiting. A few years ago, around the holidays, we gave the staff gift baskets full of our soaps & lotions. A woman approached us and asked what we did with our "leftovers." We told her we give them away to friends & family, shred them for laundry, etc. This woman worked for Hospice. I don't know how many of you have experience with Hospice (pray you never do). What they do, is akin to Sainthood. Unfortunately, I experienced this firsthand. To give a dying or terminally ill person a sliver of something nice is a wonderful feeling. If you have a convalescent home, or hospital within driving distance that has a Hospice unit; I promise you it is worth the trip.

After reading your messages I was moved. I too was going to send my extras overseas until reading about Hospices etc.
I have e-mailed my closest Hospice, and they were excited about the donations, we are arranging to organise a delivery.
I will do this on a regular basis, also keeps my space clear for the next batches, without having to move everything around constantly.
What a great idea, and thanks for the suggestions.
