what is the best water soluble preservative for putting on a diluted colors ( Lab color)?
Or what is the best method to preserve my colors diluted?

They already have a preservative; Phenoxyethanol and Caprylyl Glycol. There is a chance if you add another preservative it might react with this one. I normally use mine as is and go drop by drop.

If you are diluting the Lab Colors than you do need more preservative. Germaben works fine. There is more info on diluting them here

Thanks for your answers, but I'm still a little confused I'm very new at this.
I recently purchased at Bramble Berry the e-book Labcolor Formulary Guide. The question I have is to follow the instructions to dilute Labcolor colors I have to add the preservative or is not needed.

I thought if you nwere using lab colors and kept them in the refrigerator you did not need to add preserative.

If you are diluting the Lab Colors and storing them before using then you WILL need to add preservative.

If you are diluting the Lab Colors but FREEZING them, then no preservative.
If you do not dilute them and just use them by the drop then you do not need any.

If you prefer not to use a preservative, dyes can be measured and poured into ice cube trays and frozen and then stored in freezer bags. Or you may keep the colors refrigerated.

This is from the above link. I use no preservatives and I keep them in the frig. Am I okay?
