I'm trying to make bath bombs and I have some questions.

I was going to use teach soaps recipe but after reading through this forum I found the one below that sounds even better.

So, I'm curious as to what I can use as a mold. I like the round bombs that I have bought at lush and thats what Im aiming for. I read someone used a snowballer? What is that? Where can I get one? Is there anything easier to use?

I'd love any hints you guys are willing to share <3

* 1 cup citric acid
* 2 cups baking soda
* 1 teaspoon EO or FO
* 1 teaspoon herbs and/or liquid colorant
* 1 teaspoon oil or melted butter

Binder - Water, witch hazel or floral water in a spritz or spray bottle.

Thanks in advance,
Donna

Bramble Berry has round metal molds that are really durable.
You can find them here http://www.brambleberry.com/Stainless-S ... P4670.aspx

Or you can use those clear plastic decorate your own Christmas ornaments as a mold. They tend to crack a little after a few uses - but it's a great way to start!

Donna,

A snowballer is a childs toy they sell in the winter, mostly at farm and fleet stores, walmart, target. You may also find them in catalogs such as Miles Kimballs, Carol Wright, Harriet Carter. They are made of plastic (usually red) and children use them to make snowballs quickly to prepare for a snowball fight! I question if they are sturdy enough to hold up... most children I knew gave up on them and just made the snowballs by hand. :roll: I would think that a metal meatballer would work even better.

after searching all over for the plastic ornaments i was told by several craft stores they would not be out until later in the season. tonight i went to michaels, where i have been looking weekly for them, and talked to a friend who works there...he does stocking and!!!! the ornaments are stocked year round on the aisle with the teddy bear/doll clothes and such. its on the bottom, hidden...

SOOOO, after all this time they were always there...and only $1.29!

I had to smile when this tag came back up to the top.. I was thinking about it on Monday as I read thru the toy flyer from the Fleet Farm store... there were the snowballers for sale. But they are a bit more expensive - 4.89. Glad to hear you found what you needed!
