Has anyone every not insulated their soap when working with spice fragrance oils? It seems when I did a single soap and did not insulate it remained orange, but the log I insulated turned a brownish color? I have never not insulated before?? Any advice? Thanks

I don't insulate and prefer not to gel. Some spices heat up anyway and I do get gel. I find I can get lighter colors if I don't insulate. Spice oils can sometimes overheat and you can end up with a much darker color (or separation).
