Teach Soap

I blended my regular recipe to light trace, poured out a few cups to color for swirling. When I came back to the bucket, 8 lbs of soap was already gelling!!! I glopped it into the mold and spread it out, glopped in each of the colors. I had my gloves on, so I began pressing it into the mold and then used my soap cutter thingy to spread it as evenly as I could. It was getting harder by the second and super hot, I could feel the warmth through the gloves.

I guess it must have been the fragrance oil (not a BB oil), although I purchased it specifically because it said NO acceleration, seizing or ricing in CP. Grrrr.....I was so mad and frustrated I almost threw out the entire batch.

It happens. Next time you used this FO, let it gel in the pot. That way it will be easier glopping the soap into your mold.

I didn't even think of that...that would have been hot process, huh? In the heat of the moment all I could think of was get the soap in the mold.
