Teach Soap

I'm using recipes with a high content of yellow oils. Is there anything I can use to color my CP soap white? If so, what would the suggested usage rate be ppo?

you can add 1 tspn of titanium dioxide to your lye-water solution when it has cooled down.

make sure it's water-soluble if you use this method. I think they may be other ways -

Using whiter oils (CO, PKO, LARD...) and adding 1 tsp PPO of TD are, I believe, the most common ways to achieve white CP bars. Also soaping cool and preventing gel will result in a lighter colored soap.

ETA: Also avoid vanilla FO's that discolor to tan or brown as well as some citrus EO's and FO's that lean toward yellow.

Use the lightest oils & butters as possible. Add TD to your batch. If the fragrance has any vanilla you can try a vanilla stabilizer.

I've never tried this in CP but I just saw the SoapQueen video where Anne-Marie adds a tiny bit of blue colorant to counteract the yellow tint (for clear MP soap). Could be a fun thing to try with your yellow oils though you may end up with gray or green.

Thanks for the suggestions; I'll see if I can change some of the oils used and will definitely add some TD to the batch.
