Teach Soap

Hi Ladies,

I made my melt and pour soap and it came out great. I love it!! I was originally making this just for myself, but I was asked to join a congo on HC because I make cloth diapers. I'm considering it and I'd like to offer my soap bits too. I use them to make a cloth wipes solution.

here's the problem...
I need to find molds that are small...like small hearts..candy sized. I tried looking at the candy molds in JA..They didn't have any I liked but I think those would do the trick.

Does anyone know where I can get this type of mold?

Do you have a Dollar Store near you? I've seen them there.

Yes, dollar stores are good. I have also seen some in the kitchen sections of Wal-Mart and Target.

BB has some smaller heart molds as well....

I'm not sure where you live but if you have a Michael's Craft store or Hobby lobby etc near you, check in the baking isle. They have some molds for chocolate sometimes in the baking isles. That's also where they have the silicone baking pans (in different shapes-hearts, stars flours) that are great if you want bigger bars.

I found a little heart candy mold at Joanne Fabrics.

You can also use those silicone ice molds. They sell them on the web.

IKEA has silicon ice-cube trays that are fairly cheap. Though I'm not sure how they hold up to heat/warmth?

I use Ikea Ice Cube molds all the time - they totally work great! =) I've never melted them yet ...

Also, if it's something that you really want to make in soap there's a putty for making a mold called "Amazing Mold Putty" it's in a purple and yellow box you can find it at Michael's. At my store they have it in the section where there's glue,Modgepodge,varnish,etc.. It's great for making small molds!!! I hope this helps.
