you know what I do? If a batch dosen't turn out like I planned I wait till it is done cureing then use a bar for a week or so and figure out a new name for it. Somthing interesting to make people stop and wonder what is smells like. I've got one called Romance. Folks sniff that alot.

Thanks Linda, that's a great tip, I'll do it.

I usually soap at .7 oz. per pound for almost all of the BB fragrances (as a generalization) so when I get to the test today (sorry, last week got away from me!), I'll do it at .7 oz. and keep you posted.

I usually soap around 120 and insulate but the soap studio isn't very warm so we might not hit gel phase. I'll keep you posted... =)

I smelled the test batch and it smells good - normal for what I'm used to. Sweet and pleasant. Can I sent you a bar? It's ugly, ugly, ugly (long story involving beeswax and brown color and cool temps) but at least you'll be able to compare it to your batch.

Annie marie- I'd like a bar if I could....I haven't decided yet whether I'm going to use it in soap or save it for other tolietries....I'd be nice to see what the actual finished scent is to help with the decision lol:)

I made a batch a few days ago and after much discussing with spotted cat, she thought "anchoring" it with a clay or Td might keep the smell longer. I decided to make a GM soap with it because it is brown anyways and other than the soap being soft because I didnt gel it, the smell is really strong at .8ppo. Perhaps gelling it is the problem?

I just did a gel batch with it, and did Patchouli Dusk with it. Still curing of course, but I'm pretty pleased with the combo. This, from a girl that said she'd NEVER use patchouli. The BB elves knew what they were doing when they slipped THAT sample into my box!

My spellbound woods has now cured for about two months and the fragrance is still very light. Anyone planning a batch of cp with this fragrance would be wise to use more then the .50 ppo that I did. Don't expect any "woods" smell to it but still a pleasant fragrance. Maybe the next batch I try I will add a little sandalwood or cedarwood to beef it up?

I used a lot of Cybilla scents from Bramble Berry and have found that they are all a lot softer in finished CP soap than Bramble Berry's own at the same usage rate, at times with them I've gone up to using 1oz. ppo especially with the now discontinued and much beloved by me and my customers Cybilla Sensual... oddly and happily enough the new Vanilla Oak smells very similar and much stronger (don't drop this one Anne Marie!!!). The two Cybilla oils that stuck like crazy however were Eden's Garden and Lily of the Valley, I continue to only really use Cybilla oils as blenders when I find a blend needs a "touch of this or that"... for my main scents that I don't blend myself I've switched most of mine over to Bramble Berrys regular line or Southern Soapers.
