No big deal my SuperMan. You're my kind of guy anway. Big & strong and rich ha! I am very outgoing myself. It takes a bunch more than that to upset me and scare me away. You did not mention how old you are tho. Come on and give this girl a clue. Beside I need a good soap teacher  .

Welcome to the best soap forum on the web, love2dostuff. Supersoaper, (or should I say James?), I love your reply - pithy but friendly. You told her, but not in a nasty way. Most of the contributors to this forum seem to have a pretty good sense of humour (Aussie spelling).

Aw shucks SueBre, it was nothing. And actually my middle name is James 8) .

And to answer your question Celeste: we're all anonymous here for a reason. But we all have one thing in common….and that's soap. Based on your writing I would judge that I'm slightly older than you, although not by much. I'm not too old to train to be competitive for an upcoming area triathlon. For that reason, age is not a divider, nor is it a common denominator here. And we're all available to help and to teach one another. After all, this isn't just a networking social club. It's a place where we can ask and answer. Express ourselves openly and exchange ideas albeit a place where good friendships have nonetheless been cultivated. I'm saying this openly and not to embarrass anyone. But, your last note had some very suggestive innuendo and I'm sure I'm not the only one who noticed. If you want to know something about soapmaking, ask. If you want to know anything else, this isn't the place. And no, I'm not going to PM you. Besides, I'm sure folks here are tired of reading this thread. I just thought your last noted needed some clarification. Perhaps you should read my initial response again. The part where I said my wife is a strikingly beautiful supermodel. Thanks.

Frankly, I was totally bought off on the "Most interesting man in the world" theme you had going but now, not so much. I think after the first response, you needed to let the mockery and the joke run its course.

The reason this forum is good is because it is friendly and non-judgmental. Perhaps you ought to find another forum, SuperSoaper, where that kind of response is tolerated. We don't publicly make fun of or reply sarcastically to our members here. She was obviously trying to be "funny" too and would have learned her way around soon enough. As a man, I would have thought you could have dealt with it.

Just being factual Miss Johnson. And if you re-read her initial question you would see that it was her that was being judgmental. And I did deal with it. I dealt with it the way a man would. I'm not a woman as you obviously are so the way I deal with things are going to be different. It doesn't mean it's right or wrong. Just different.

As I stated before. Bygones. Besides, I've since made my mea culpa's to the young woman and we're fine now and I'm assisting her with some recipes outside the forum. Perhaps it's time for all of us to put this to bed now and move on.

If you don't like my replies I'm sure you can block my content somehow.

I quite agree with Lisa Johnson, supersoaper. I felt your response was a bit condescending. Oh and you mentioned something about future customers and such, you might want to eliminate the words "cupcake" "sweetpea" and "cottonheads" when referring to women. Just a suggestion

Knine, I did read the entire post, thank you very much, before I gave my two cents.

I have no bias about soapers, knitters, bakers, etc. regardless of gender, orientation, age, income, etc. But I do have an issue about being nasty on a forum geared towards newbies and newer soapers who don't know the rules of the road yet--remember this is teachsoap dot com. She was a little flirty but I have seen far, far worse on other forums.

And yes, Super Soaper, water under the bridge and mea culpa and all of that and it is nice that you have tried to help.

It doesn't matter that I was offended at your comments, Super Soaper, but I would hate to scare people away who fear they will be mocked or embarrassed when they don't know the rules of the road. Lots and lots of people come here first to learn and there needs to be a certain amount of patience and gentle guidance to teach them how to operate. Again, this is teach soap dot com.

Hi All,

I've been watching this thread with interest and not posting or speaking
up because I hate being heavy handed and I trust all the soapers in the forum to
self-police and act with kindness. It sounds like the original two Soapers
were able to easily work things out with the offhanded, trying-to-be-funny
comments and that makes me happy. As others have pointed out, we try very
hard to be friendly, accepting and downright jolly about helping new and
experienced Soapers alike here at TeachSoap.com and that's always the
attitude I want to keep going on this forum.

Ultimately, we all want to learn to improve our craft and become better
soapmakers and that's something we can all get behind. So, let's get back
to the win-win for this forum and start talking soap stuff. =)
