Teach Soap

hi guys,

i made the cupcake frosting recipe that Anne-Marie had posted on her blog. unfortunately, the icing "flopped". i could not get it thicker or stiffer for the life of me. it's taken 3 days to have them harden, and not even fully.

i followed the recipe to a "T" except for the following:

i used slsA instead of the sls. i read on that post i could do so.

i used sweet almond oil instead of JoJoBa. i ran out.

do you think the oil swap was my issue?

Jojoba is actually a plant wax. Almond oil is just that; oil. So it's possible that the almond oil was your culprit.

Hi there!

I use that recipe all the time for my cupcake bath bombs. One thing I don't do anymore is add the fragrance oil to the frosting, it greatly changes the outcome for some reason. I just fragrance the bottoms & leave out the FO in the frosting. Try it you may see a big improvement. Literally my frosting is hard in about 30 minutes

dragonlady0627 - Have you tried this recipe again? I'm curious if you got it to work well for you?
