Teach Soap

hmmm.....I live up here in cool country. I don't have air conditioning, no need. So I received my order from BB today with pumpkin spice in there. If what I'm comprehending from your instructions Magic, you don't CPOP pumpkin spice. Do you insulate it? In my case, would I insulate it? Or would I just leave it on the counter with a top on my mold?

Spices tend to accelerate trace and can make the soap overly hot. I would soap cool and not insulate, or just put a light towel over it. And keep an eye on it.

I did CPOP Pumpkin Spice the first time, but never after that. It cooked until it seperated into a huge pool of oil on top of burnt crispy stuff. It looked just like meatloaf, if your mom was a terrible terrible cook.

Anyway, soapbuddy is right - spice scents heat up on their own, no oven needed! A light towel and a watchful eye is about right.

I hate hot weather with no A/C. I've been measuring out my coconut with a soup ladle.

No Ac, No Ac??? I am still trying to puzzle out that concept. Is that like no chocolate? A dreaded possibility that one must not dwell on? This Florida gal figures it must be.

Magic Hands has some great advice and elevating for air circulation does make a big difference. But mostly I wanted to say your soap is in no way a candidate for the shelf of shame. The colors are very warm and gradually change tint making the soap pleasing to the eye. And the honeycomb effect is as others have pointed out very artistic.

I agree with ruby82---- no need for the shelf of shame! It's great looking soap. We've all had that 2toned look at one point or another--- it's artistic!!

If it is super hot inside and sometimes when I have a really hot gel expected I actually stand a fan on the table next to my mold. Depending on the batch, I too use the freezer shelf or fridge. But generally hot weather, I don't insulate and use the fan.

If my soap dosen't jel all the way I don't loose any sleep over it. Never had a customer complain yet.
