Teach Soap

Anne-Marie and I have been emailing back and forward about having a Soaper's Meet-up in Seattle, WA this summer. We finally came up with a date - August 23rd!

Both of us would love to meet other soapers, swap ideas, show-off our fabulous and not-so-fabulous creations, and eat some great food! So, mark your calendars for this lunch get together!

The last part (eating great food) is where we could use some help... do you have any suggestions on a terrific place to eat in Seattle that could accommodate a group? If so, let me know by replying to this post. Thank you!

Soapers in Seattle meeting. Oh boy! Count me in.

Although I live in Seattle I hardly never eat out. I'll check with some of my friends who do eat out and see if I can come up with a few suggestions. I'd prefer something actually in Seattle because I'm a bus person. Or even better, in the Fremont neighborhood, so I could walk there!

I'm so excited to meet local soapers! And do I have some ugly ones to show (grin) and hopefully I'll have some nice ones too.

I'm so jealous! Wish I could attend, but I'm sure that there will be reports given!

I just checked the air fair to Seattle - I guess I won't be joining you. Have a good meeting!

We have merged this gathering with the PNW Soapmakers, a group on Yahoo. The meeting will be on Sunday, August 17th at 10:30 AM. It is at a private residence. So, if you are interested please join the PNW Soapmakers group on Yahoo at .

There is going to be at least four demonstrations, a soap and supply swap, and most beautiful and ugly soap contests. There are going to be great contests and swag bags.

I have to join a Yahoo Group to come! Oh, dear. My DH, the system administraor here, does not like Yahoo or Yahoo groups. I'll have to wait till he gets home from Jury Duty to see if he says it's OK to join the Yahoo Group. It sounds like such a great time, I want to come!

Is the meeting still in the Seattle area?

The meet-up is at a private residence in Lakewood.

The reason behind joining the Yahoo group is that I don't know the gal that is having the meet-up at her house and I just don't feel comfortable giving out her address publicly.

We decided to merge the two meetings because they were so close in timing to each other and we could connect with even more soapers!

Lakewood is a bit far from me here in Seattle, so I won't be coming. At least joining Yahoo is no longer an issue (smile), although the reason for doing that is a very good one. Privacy is an important issue. And to the host -- what a wonderful thing to do, having soapers come soap! Sure sounds like a fun day. I'll be thinking of everyone and hope to see some pictures on Anne-Marie's blog.
