Teach Soap

I haven't been selling soap for a while so what I had left I just kept on a rack in my dining room (up high). This summer has been super humid and my soap "sweated" quite a bit-is there a way to stop this? A freind of mine mentioned she has a soap "closet" to keep this from happening. Any body know of this? Or how to make one?

I dunno...I have a dedicated room for soap, and it seems to be doing great even with the humidity. There's circulation, but I don't have anything like a dehumidiifer, kwim?

A soap "closet" with a dehumidier would definitely help.

For CP I don't use shrink wrap as the soap needs to breathe. It continues to cure out over a long period of time. With MP, yes I would shrink wrap as soon as possible.
You need a place like a closet where you could use a dehumidifier or there is a product which I can't think of a name right now. It's some type of a jar that has crystals or something similar in it. Over time those crystals turn to water as it picks up extra moisture in the air. When all the crystals turn to water, you throw it away and put in a new one.

I do use shrink wrap on my CP, but it needs to be very dry before wrapping - so you'd still need a dehumidifier or something like soapbuddy is describing to absorb the extra moisture.

I've always found the shrink wrap to be useful for protecting fully cured and dry soap, and I've been using it for years now with no problems.

Yeah, doing some HC, some local, a LOT of co-op type things.

And the "soap room" is more like a 10x12 closet...shelves on either wall, and DH put up some wood fragrance shelves for me.

I shrink wrap my CP and have had no problems except that the soap sometimes continues to shrink a bit as it cures.
However I just started using polyolefin shrink wrap which breathes more than PVC wrap. I mainly switched so you can smell the soap through the wrap but it should also help with the curing process. I also just ordered some polyolefin that is perforated which should help even more.

Where do you get polyolefin from - would Bramble Berry have it?
I am from South Africa, so will not be able to find it here.
I must say that thick, good quality cellophane looks really great with CP soap. Could cellophane be what you call polyolefin? I have had a stick on clear label made to show off my handwork.
