I would like to ask if its possible to use a crockpot in melting my glycerine as opposed to using a double broiler? What are the advantages and disadvantages?

I think you mean double boiler. :) That method works, but it takes longer to melt. With crockpot you have to be careful so the soap doesn't overheat. Do you have a microwave?

Yes, I have a microwave but I am afraid to use it on the soap, it might explode and bubble over. I am a novice and have no experience yet. Only the melt and pour I did in class. I am in the middle of getting all my equipment and ingredients. So a crockpot is not advisable for the M and P coz it might overheat? Then i will just use the microwave to be safe but in what increments? 30 seconds? 60 seconds? I am so looking forward to doing this out of class! I will be ordering the the M and P at Brambleberry! Another question i would like to ask is, is there some kind of hardener base i can mix with the glycerine so that it does not melt so easily in the sun? Its very warm where I stay. Also, how do i keep the scent from getting mixed up with the soap bars. I intend to wrap it in tissue gift paper but want to make sure the scent dont rub off each other.

Depending how much MP you have in the cup, start with 15 second increments in the micro til you get the hang of it. There is no hardener that I know of that you can use with MP. MP melts in high heat. You could keep them in a cooler if you are planning to sell these at shows. Just leave one out for people to look at. I would keep each scent separate in some kind of a box. Over time the soaps could pick up scents from each other if they are next to each other.
