Teach Soap

I've been making lip balm for myself and friends for years and have never used a preservative. I've just had an offer from a small neighborhood store to start selling them, and am wondering if they need a preservative. I make a hemp oil based recipe and a few shea and cocoa butter based. If they should have a preservative would Germaban work? Also, if I'm selling to the store should I be carrying insurance? Do I need any kind of permits or license? I'm excited for the opportunity, but not sure if I'm prepared! Thanks for any info!

Yes, you need liability insurance. Lip balms don't contain any water, so you don't need a preservative.

You can purchase liability insurance through them. You must also sell soap to qualify for the insurance and benefits.
