When you make a batch with a lb of oils it ends up being about 21+ oz with everything added and it seems like these types of molds are usually for larger batches. But I found one at WSP that was 11 oz and another was 16. Puzzled about this. I'd like to make a lb of oils soap batch that forms into a loaf you can slice like bread in bars about 1.25" thick. Thanks.

You need to account for the amount of oils, amount of water and any other additives.

Brambleberry's 4" Silicone Mold is the closest I've come to for a 1# batch. You get about 13-14 oz of soap. You can get four 1" bars. If you want 1.25" bars, you will only get 3 bars with a little bit left over. I save that extra bit & store it to make confetti soap.

Oh, okay, thanks. I found that WSP's rectangle silicone bar mold fits a 1 lb batch perfectly for 4 one-inch thick bars, but regrettably, most CP is too soft for the cavities and the bars won't pop out, even with plenty of freezer time.
