Shot in the dark here asking this question - yeah, I know - holidays around the corner. But it never hurts to ask...
I've made only 2 lotion recipes - very happy with what I've made using the following:
80% Water 3% Stearic Acid 4% E wax (Nature's Garden "traditional") 13% Oil - I have used Sweet Almond Oil to date.
This makes a fine lotion but I want to thin it slightly for some pump bottles I have - I am afraid at the present thickness it won't move through the straw and pump. Its thick enough that with a typical 8 oz squeeze bottle you have to knock the stuff down towards the top and give the bottle a good squeeze, and its not out of place in a jar.
I've never seen a recipe that used more than 80% water, so that can't be what you increase (or is it?)
Is it possible to drop E wax down too low so that the lotion doesn't emulsify? My gut instinct is to drop the stearic acid down - would a 1% reduction do the trick, with an increase in the oil or the water?
If anyone could suggest the best minor tweak - much appreciated.
