I feel like a complete idiot. Normally I buy fractionated coconut oil by the gallon. Then I infuse it over several months in a rolling vat system to make bee pollen oil.
When I placed my last big order from The Chemistry Store, I was in a hurry and not paying attention as well as I should have been. I accidentally ordered a gallon of Coconut Oil 76. So. Now I have this gallon jug, with this solid in it. After reading online, I find in order to liquify it, I must put the jug into a warm water bath to heat it to 76 degrees.
Here's the thing. I live in Connecticut and its winter. Its not going to be much over 64 degrees in my house until spring. Once I get this to liquefy, will it still infuse once it solidifies again? Can I keep liquefying and solidifying without detriment to the oil? Should I just get rid of it and try again? Will this even work in body butters and face creams like my bee pollen oil? Ugh.
