Hi - I recently stumbled across a utube video, a woman making soap; she stated she was "adding her Titanium Dioxide to her cooled down lye water" in order to whitten the base. I am curious about this method, did I understand that correctly? I have been mixing my td, 3 tsp per lb, as a colorant after reaching trace - but it seems to accelerate quickly - so am wondering if anyone else out there add's there TD to lye water and what benefits you gain - also, my TD is oil base (I have it pre-mixed already) would that matter ? Do I need to get the water soluable type? How much TD would you use? (Same as above?)
and one last thought - if you can add TD to lye water - does that mean I can also add dispersed mica's to lye water to change the base color to whatever color I choose ???? The world of color is getting much easier to understand!!
thanks for your response - waiting patiently to learn more . . . .
