Teach Soap

I have made a soap paste with:
25oz Coconut Oil
20oz Olive Oil
3 Oz Cocoa butter
11.5 oz KOH
35oz H2O
Paste was beautiful, gelled and neutral. Diluted until no skin formed (84.4 oz water to 45oz Soap Paste)
Added 6oz honey
6oz Glycerin

Liquid soap is clear and lathers well but it is very thin. The first batch I used salt and it thickened a little, used as samples and now that they have sat for a week there is a whitish foam at the neck of the bottle and the soap is clear again. It will re-suspend but makes the soap opaque.

What is recommended for thickening liquid soap with coconut oil. Have seen so many that say salt is not the best with coconut oil so I wonder if it's because it doesn't thicken well or if its because it separates over time.

ANY suggestions are welcome.

Crothix? I haven't used it, but I seem to remember Brambleberry recommending it.

Thank you! Haven't seen that yet. I'm a Bramble Berry Junkie, LOL I will look it up. I tried the salt and will just have to let everything settle and clear then skim the top before bottling so it will stay clear. Hopefully I can find the product you mentioned for the next batch. Under the gun to have ready by next Sat!

Borax can be used to neutralize LS but it's supposed to thicken it too.

I use PEG 150 disterate to thicken my heavy coconut oil liquid soaps. I get it from making cosmetics: It takes VERY little, and is super easy to work with. I have Crothix as well, but I find it has an unsavoury smell to it (kind of like shellfish or something along those lines; and I've had it from 2 suppliers too, same smell). I haven't tried the crothix pastilles from BB yet though! I do find crothix works better in a surfactant system than it does in a soap system though.
