yes or no? i know it has been asked before but searching through old posts is time consuming.

do you use it? if yes why? if not why?

Yes I use it. It makes the soap harder faster. Since I don't gel, it helps with unmolding.

I use it when I use the plastic and/or intricate molds to ensure clean unmolding, but not on my regular batches (but I gel).

I used it a bit but had a bit of pushback from customers who thought it sounded suspiciously like a chemical they wouldn't like. Now I just use salt but it doesn't help with HP like sodium lactate. What have you told customers who expressed concern about it in your soaps?

I don't use it. I was just interested in what other people had to say about it. I use a wooden mold and so far have had no problem getting the soap out.

So true, Tammy! Although people are beginning to ask more. Often when they do ask about a scent or a color, they really just want to know how to duplicate it for themselves. I'm thinking of trying sodium lactate again and using your advice. Thanks!

If I'm working with a mold that is hard to get soap out of like a slab mold with dividers, I use it. Mostly I avoid those type molds these days.
